The Holiday Packing List

Ho, ho, ho! The holidays are right around the corner. What makes me most excited besides food and family? Fashion! Whether you’re celebrating at your home, at your in-laws, or at a distant destination, you can dress to impress. Keep in mind, looking fab for the holidays is all about options! Read on to learn how you can put together ensembles for four possible holiday gatherings that will leave you looking and feeling like you’re ready to embrace the season.

Friends Dinner Party

Look awesome for a dinner party with your friends. A sequin blazer is everything! Shop for a longer cut and an open look. Three quarter length sleeves are a must, as they play down this look and make it less formal. Add a simple yet silky white sleeveless tie front tuxedo top. A top like this is fabulous because it features some pleating and an open neck style. Opt to wear this undershirt untied and a bit unruly by tucking it messily into a pair of leather leggings. Complete your look with a pair of strappy black stilettos and simple silver hoops. The combination of black and white is the perfect concoction of formal and casual, which is ideal for a friendly get together rockin’ around the Christmas tree.

For a fabulous splash of sequin.

A more subtle comfy blazer choice.

Family Xmas Eve/Xmas Day

Look cute and stay comfortable when you enjoy dinner, drinks, and dessert with your family in your home or at theirs. Because you’ll be hanging in and partaking in present opening and the like, you’ll want to be in a forgiving yet festive frock. Opt for a dress that allows you to pair with leggings (tons of warmth and stretch) and layer with a cute blazer, which is perfect for attending a church ceremony before or after hand as well.

I love this belted cardigan sweater dress because it is semi-formal, yet totally chic and comfortable. It can be dressed down with black leggings and two tone riding boots, or dressed up with a pair of opaque tights and classic stiletto heels.

Accessorize it with leopard print or tortoise shell enameled bangle bracelets and a pair of dangly gold earrings to offset the golden buttons adorning the dress. Add a pop of color with a candy apple red blazer or cardigan, or a knit wrap that boasts geometric prints.

Outdoor Christmas Events

Cutting down your tree? Enjoying an outdoor caroling concert? Maybe you’re strolling through a lit up town at night with the family. Regardless of your outdoor activities, you need to keep things casual, looking put together, but most importantly, you need to be warm!

Fairisle sweaters are everything this season. If you want to stay on trend, grab one for your closet now. This style of sweater is perfect for outdoor events because it screams “holidays are here.” Choose a textured style in a neutral tone so that you can layer it and pair it with a wide range of accessories, like this sweater below.

Slide on a pair of medium wash Flexibelle jeans that are ever so slightly rolled so that you can show off a pair of black suede ankle booties. Slide on a quilted puffer vest and a cute beanie that boasts a fur pom pom for added texture and style. You’ll also need a pair of cozy black gloves and a pair of silver pull through hoop earrings will do the trick!

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas Outfit

Whether you’re out shopping for friends and the fam, enjoying a post-holiday or pre-holiday brunch with gal pals who are back in town, or if you took the kids to a surprise holiday destination (Radio City Music Hall, anyone?) you can certainly look and dress the part for this exciting and bustling time. Moments filled with holiday cheer, you’re beginning to look a lot like Christmas ensemble should be colorful and bright.

Shimmer and shine in this Belle by Kim Gravel Raindrop Lurex Twist Front Top.

Keep things classy and classic with a fabric that never goes out of style: velvet.

Match your top with a sleek but comfortable pair of Citi Twill Slim Leg Pants.

Or…

This pink wool moto coat will grab the attention of all. It allows you to wear it and pair it with a wide range of sweaters and blouses all season long.

Underneath this warm beauty, work it in striped tunic turtleneck and a fitted pair of dark wash skinnies.

Glitter bow flats also offset the colors and tones fabulously and give plenty of sparkle to stand up to the sights and shine of the season!

Fasten on a pair of hoops (Like these emBELLEish Hoop Earrings) and get ready to look amazing for all of your seasonal get togethers and shopping excursions. The holidays bring plenty of cheer and most importantly, fashion opportunities. Be sure to consider your ensemble prior to leaving the house to ensure that you look the part and feel the part of the holiday festivities. It’s also important to shop for pieces that can keep the party going all winter long and maximize your investment. May your days be merry and bright and may all your fashion choices complement you right!
